Telepathy

Telepathy
Fight that the night would sooner die
Land and the firmer ground to stand in
See that the well has long run dry
Just as you dare to put your hand in

I don't receive your telepathy
Can't tell you what you think you're telling me
Our signals could be crossed, communication lost
Too flimsy for the cost, too dim to see

Don't send me the message, I need to be rested
Head for the passage that looks the less drastic
I won't be mistaking my true destination
Can't see what you're hiding or what you're deciding

Drew from the mouth that made no sound
Knew I was just about to flounder
Thought I would need to turn around
Not that I even would have found her

I don't receive your telepathy
Can't tell you what you think you're telling me
Our signals could be crossed, communication lost
Too flimsy for the cost, too dim to see
