Rusty

Rusty
Shirt on backward, laces untied
Short on actors in the case of my pride
Nothing showing in the limitless sky
Must be glowing to the innocent eye
Playing a losing game fatally prone
Weighing out costs that would be better unknown
Crying out louder for a merciful end
At least an encounter that results in a friend

Try to find a place for the acknowledgement of victory
Hanging flimsily in-between the grinding rails
Strain to gain my peace in the abolishment of innocence
Send the men embarking long on a winding trail
Absolute autonomy as useless as you want to be
Wake up every Sunday stuck in the same dark cell
Try to find the grace to be a monument of history
Pinned together at the beams' seams by rusty nails

Can't fault anyone for falling aground
You're more lost than ever when you think you've been found
Can't recover as they offer their hand
Soon discover what they had for a plan
Staying positive means standing alone
Going the opposite of where they have flown
Saving her picture for a personal show
Far from the action where you don't want to go

Try to find a place for the acknowledgement of victory
Hanging flimsily in-between the grinding rails
Strain to gain my peace in the abolishment of innocence
Send the men embarking long on a winding trail
Absolute autonomy as useless as you want to be
Wake up every Sunday stuck in the same dark cell
Try to find the grace to be a monument of history
Pinned together at the beams' seams by rusty nails
